As I posted last night I had this Aching Bloated Stomach come on suddenly together with a very short bout of AFib. The AFib stopped after a very short time and did not seem to go above 100BPM according to the KARDIA. I was left with this Aching Stomach, it was worse last night than the night before and I was awake most of the night.
I would appreciate advice on how to treat it. Should I fast while this lasts. I am already underweight but I will do whatever is beneficial. Could I take Paracetamol to relieve the Aching to enable some sleep.

This may sound like a superficial answer. But I have on occasion found a good pharmacist can advise.I always go in person and not ask for advice over the 'phone.
Hugo, it will almost certainly come on because of a food/meal you have eaten. Do suggest you read up on vagal nerve. This nerve - in simple terms controls the heart and digestive system. In many of us it is a feature of our AF. IT is common but doesn't hold good for every sufferer. When this happens try and identify a food that you may have an intolerance to. Maybe a drink, a beverage, tea, coffee or alcohol. Maybe ice cold stuff like ice cream.
If you are seriously thinking pain killers then I'd be more inclined to try liquid Gavescon as an alternative. I tend to agree with 10 gingercats though.
When I get this I often think my stomach is attached to a garage airline blowing up my car tyres. Often the pain sits just above my left lower rib.
Your write up is very good & helpful even gave me and the wife a laugh, not many about this morning.
As I'm quite new to AF so I'm also new to Anticoagulants and I don't trust anything that messes with my blood. At least I wont imagine a pool of blood forming in my upper stomach tonight.
I did have a very nice spicy Stir-fry. Watched tennis. But more than that got quite inflamed by the Political Show after on Friday evening. It flipped me briefly into AFib. Then rapidly the Stomach problem.
It's good to know it's likely to be just a passing nasty phase.
From My own experience I would agree that it was something in the stir fry. I’ve been going to a nutritionist for 3 years. She started me with FODMAP. My episodes of AF and tummy problems has reduced dramatically. With FODMAP you initially reduce your diet to just few foods which are non inflammatory for a period of time then you reintroduce foods. It enables you to identify the foods you may have an issue with and gives you an idea on how to regulate your intake of those foods. Try googling it.
Just can't answer that one Hugo. I am on Warfarin and it gives me no issues at all. I am also on Bisoprolol, Ramipril and Felodopine too, again no issues.
To be honest, I don't even consider anticoagulation. I just accept that it is a safeguard against ending up in a very black hole, forget it and get on with living it up, as best as possible at 74, goin' 75. 😂😂
Hi, I find taking Ranitidine helps. I have also found myself that eating anything spicy can trigger AF and painful bloated tummy. I'm on rivaroxaban and Ranitidine are OK to take.
