A lot of people do, many find it helps enormously. Personally, I eat red meat occasionally but fish and fowl 3-4 times a week. Dairy and gluten are my biggest triggers so I tend to avoid those but I would say I am intolerant to them rather than allergic.

I tend to follow the BANT recommendations on nutrition bant.org.uk/about-nutrition...

Keep your up fats - the good ones such as avocado, olive, hemp, seeds, nuts - avoid sugar or artificial sweeteners in anything - avoid all processed foods including bacon, sausage, ham etc more than anything.

I am a great believer in eating as many foods as possible - forget the 50 different foods a week challenge -try 20 different foods a day - it’s not as difficult as you think.

I found The Doctor’s Kitchen the most helpful book, full of wonderful recipes for quick and easy meals based on a predominantly veg meals but also with excellent recipes for why particular groups of veg and berries, herbs and spices are good.

This seems to have been well known for a few years now in many cultures. For quite a different reason I started reducing my meat intake last year and am sure it has benefitted me. Lost a stone in weight anyway. As my wife is a vegetarian this has not been difficult. I just eat what she does three or four days a week. We in the western world all eat far too much meat anyway.

Yes, I do and I believe it's greatly helped to reduce my PAF. Like CDreamer I have the occasional bit of red meat, alongside poultry and fish. I avoid most convenience foods, cakes, biscuits, sweets etc and cook entirely from scratch using fresh produce. I totally avoid any foods that contain artificial additives, especially sweeteners which I believe triggered my AF 14 years ago.

Hi Jilly :-) I eat a mainly plant-based diet organic when possible . I can't say if it has 'helped' my AF my aim was to halt the progession of Paroxismal AF to Permanant AF and after two years of adopting lifestyle changes my P-AF is stable with an average of 1 episode a month .

I haven't found it difficut adopting this way of eating and enjoy it :-)

'Eating a rainbow of foods every day' is a good maxim to follow.
