Does anyone who is on xarelto and has experienced hair loss find that if they change to apixaban (elequis) that the hair loss stops? Mine seems to be coming out quite a lot and is getting thinner.
Thanks

My hair has been thinning. I haven’t tried anything else. I just thought I would mention it at my next appointment (in September). Keep us posted!
I have been told to try zinc, so have been and got some
I started on Apixiban and suffered both hair loss and nausea, so changed to Dabigatran and had both problems with that. I am now on Xarelto and don’t suffer with nausea, but the hair loss is just as bad. Not everybody suffers from hair loss, but those that do seem to get it on all of the anti coagulants. The only one I am yet to to is edoxiban but no doubt will have the same problem. Hair loss isn’t list in the side effects of any of these, so cardiologists don’t take it seriously.

Guess I’m lucky, I started on Apixaban when diagnosed about this time last year. I did notice a lot of extra hair in my brush over the first couple of months, but it did settle down. Thank goodness for that as I don’t have very thick hair anyway!

One of the members advised me to try zinc so I have been out and got some. I live in hope!
Yes I did have hair loss which I attributed to Rivaroxaban and changed to Apixaban. I still get a little loss, but not so bad. However, about the same time my GP did a blood test which included Zinc and found I was very low on Zinc and had a 3 month course. It improved enormously so might be worth your while to see your GP about Zinc. Horrible isn't it, we have enough problems with AF without that as well.
I had hair loss on all of the NOAC's (I tried them all)
Yes I have hair loss while taking Xarelto.
