Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker not a beta blocker. Is there any reason why you can not take beta blockers?

Not that I know of BobD, this is what I was put on when I went into the hospital and they haven't changed anything, I wasnt on anything before my trip to the hospital

It had zero affect on my blood pressure as well. I asked cardiologist to take me off of it, he reduced it by half as it does keep my heart rate down very nicely.

Had several side effects from diltiazem and now taking a lower dosage of chlorthalidone (12.5mg) with no issues. I have no proof but feel now having AFib was caused by diltiazem, I never felt good under that drug.

I was changed to verapramil as I cannot take a beta blocker and it has worked fine for me for the last 3 yrs so maybe see if your dr will let you try that
