Hello all and thanks to everyone who has answered all my various worry’s over the last few years.
I had number 2 ablation a few weeks ago and have had a very odd feeling at least once a day for a split second since. It seems to feel like a sting around the top of my heart - it comes with a huge dose of anxiety and makes me literally jump up.....not a nice felling at all. I had the lower right pulmonary vein isolated during this procedure as all the others were in good order. Has anyone else had anything similar? Probably not the best description i’m afraid but i’ve never felt anything like it before
Thanks

Perhaps it's the body responding to the changes made during the ablation? I know it's not referred to as surgery, but all that poking and prodding and zapping will most likely cause changes to the tissues. When everything is settling down again and healing is taking place, the nerves will feel it. Sharp 'stinging' sensations usually come from nerve endings, maybe in response to scar tissue forming, or the ablated ends of the pulmonary vein twitching as they heal?
If you're concerned, I'd talk to your GP for advice.
After my ablation I had pain and was told this was normal. I continued to have pain and finally my cardio dr put me on colchicine for a month and that helped.
Yes I had similar for a few weeks after my ablation, I described it as like a pin being pushed through the heart, not particularly painful but does cause you to worry
