We AF folk are ahead of the pack in limiting our intake of garbage food. This interesting study suggests we are on the right track. 🙂

The consultant told me never to have ready meals but I assumed that this was because of the salt content, as she instructed me never to add salt when cooking, and this was in the same breath.

I once scared myself by googling the ingredients in a ready meal and it was supposed to be low salt and healthy. 😄 (Just high in all sorts of chemicals)

I’m in a weird situation as my cardiologist told me to take extra salt and water as my blood pressure is usually quite low. I have never added salt to food and when I lived in the Middle East as a young thing, I had to take sodium tablets to help me cope with the heat and sweating.

Can’t see towards your neck of the woods today - rain and low cloud over the mountain - sea level might be better.

How strange. I’ve very low bp, around the 80 mark, which almost precluded me from having Entresto, in fact I was given the first few doses as an inpatient to be on the safe side.

However, I’m limited to 1300 mls for all fluids and not allowed salt or any foodstuff high in it, such as ham or cheese.

Yes, can hardly see Mussendun, never mind your area! 😀

Thanks for that Fin :-) I have eaten 10 portions of vegetables and fruit today in addition to my daily porridge and am now feeling virtuous .

I used to enjoy eating fruit but am now limited since i was prescribed a beta blocker. It triggered urticaria and intolerance to several otherwise healthy foods, such as grapes, bananas, and oranges, as well as any brown bread, and tomatoes.

I can eat blueberries, apples, and mangoes, without causing rashes, and all pulses I've so far tried.

That’s truly miserable for you. Can your doc offer any alternative or advice?

Not so far, apart from prescribing antihistamines, and stopping beta blockers.
