I am on Multaq(Dronaderone) since April last year. Am also taking Eliquiss 1x2. Multaq is taken twice daily.

My first Afib attack occured 2003 when I suffered from an acute bronchitis. No recurrence for ten years. Since then a gradual progression and bouts of Afib when infected. Am a sufferer of bronchiectasis but a non smoker. As I had bouts of Afib nearly every seccond week and hospital admittances until in sinus rate I was put on Bisoprolol but because of very low blood presure and extreme tiredness I was instead put on Multaq to regulate rythum abnormalities. It has worked to an extent. I have bouts of Afib approx once every six weeks always with an infection and stop it myself by taking 1.25mg or 2,5mg Bisoprolol. I lay down and and the attack stops within 1to six hours. When on antibiotics I am free from afib.

My question is anybody out there on Multaq? I find that it makes me lethargic and I seem to suffer from thinking more slowly and less inclined to move about. My cardiogist wants me to refrain from an ablation just now.

Multaq is controversial - side effects without effectiveness reported by many. And I’m convinced it brought on a nasty cough. Do more research and maybe ask your doctor for a different medicine...

Why is he recommending against ablation? Ask to see an EP as they are the experts in arrhythmias.
