Closed artery after ablation

I recently had my third ablation with a new doctor. Afterwards the doctor told my wife that the previous doctor had closed up one of my arteries 50 percent with scarring and he would have to start over and I would have to see someone else about my artery. Has anyone had this happen to them. He told me it was an old way of doing it. Anybody have to deal with this and should the doctor be held accountable

Not quite the same thing but my right radial artery is non functioning due to scar tissue since an angiogram a few years ago. All the blood to my hand has to go via the other side so that hand is paler than the left. These things happen and no doubt will be amongst the many things that you sign your life away for prior to any procedure. I was told in my case this happens in about 5% of cases and has nothing to do with malpractice. Scars happen !

I'm really sorry to hear that you have this worry.

We always sign documents before a surgical procedure to make us aware that it may not go perfectly. However, I think I would consider having a talk with one of the specialist law companies who deal with medical negligence. I believe some offer free advice. Bear in mind that doing this could cause you a lot of stress, so think seriously if you want that in your life!

People rarely get to have checks on the accuracy of a medical procedure performed on them. Your post has really set me thinking and wondering how many are not of a good standard, or cause problems elsewhere in the body.

I wish you the best of luck and a successful outcome, with all that lies ahead, regarding your good health.

You should see my arm at the moment after my angiogram last Thursday. Its blue, yellow and all colours from wrist to elbow. Went into clinic who said that is normal!!! Well no doubt my artery is not happy! And who knows if its damaged? Chance you take I guess?

I really do not understand your post.

You say you had a third ablation by your new EP, but then you go on to say, "he would have to start over." Why? Couldn't he correct whatever during the third ablation in order not to start over? Or, has your arrhythmia come back?

If the scarring that closed 50% of the artery was caused by the last EP, who is this "someone else" to correct -- another EP or a cardiologist specializing in artery repair?
