I have been taking fexofenadine HCL aka Allegra with out any aggravation of my PAF.

It is an antihistamine. The side effects do not list rapid or racing HR.

I would run it by your doc.

A very rare side effect of a beta blocker caused me to have urticaria and a runny nose. I no longer take beta blockers. The skin specialist doctor prescribed cetrizine hydrochloride, an antihistamine, twice a day. It works as long as I don't miss a dose. BUT my best advice is to check with your doctor first. I have permanent AF, which compared with paroxysmal AF is much slower and mainly asymptotic.

I have used loratadine fofr years wih no problems BUT always discuss with your pharmacist as these people should know about any contraindications.

My doc prescribed cetirizine hydrochloride once a day which was the only one advised with propafenone which I was taking at the time. I take it every day still but have to pay myself now, fortunately it is inexpensive. Antihistamines can interact so you do need to check with a pharmacist first - when I asked my doc about an interaction she told me to ask a pharmacist!

Strange since I was on propafanone for some time and took loratadine with zero problems .

I know, that's why I mentioned it, it is strange. My asthma nurse as!ed the doctor what I could take with propafenone as there was an interaction issue - maybe loratidine was too expensive!

when I was in A+E with a massive reaction to Rivaoxaban they gave me Cetirizine , I have used this several times since when visiting friends that have pets and no issues.
