I know that many of you have been where I am. I had an ablation last summer with high hopes of success. EP has a 90% first pass success rate. Had an AFIB episode last night. Lasted about 10 hrs. Went back into sinus about 3 A. M. , which is the pattern of my other attacks.
My flecanide was cut in half in Oct., which is something I wanted. My heart rate is low and the flec. really bothered me. I'm guessing they will up it again. ...
I also ride a motorcycle and have a bucket list of rides I want to make. Getting off a blood thinner is a priority for me, guess not now.

I fully your understand your desire to come off the blood thinners. As far as I`m aware flec won`t slow your heart rate down though - rather it only helps with the misfiring. I`m on it without to many problems at the moment (I think !).
Would it worth you asking your doc to try a different rhythm control ? I`m sure you have already discussed it but I`ll link to an article below.
PS just to add - I`ll copy and paste `suggested` med`s below from the article. From my research amiodarone must only be taken under very strict medical supervision.
I work abroad much of the year and was put on this by a cardiologist in eastern europe. I had one week of it and it really hit me. The doctor in the UK took me off it right away.
However - we all react differently to different drugs. It`s very important to always have strict medical supervision and guidance when trying new med`s.
Flecainide is an arrhythmia drug and shouldn't slow your heart rate down. Beta blockers can do that. I found flecainide brilliant Good luck and best wishes
