Thank you first of all for your great replies to my last post. Saw my GP yesterday and after careful thinking and with my IBS I was looking at Apixaban for my AC. But my doc said no Edoxaban is the one for me and wouldn’t back down. Anyone know much about this medication as I have no clue?
Not to start it though until I have had a blood test first and get my results.
It could be because Apixaban is expensive and Edoxoban cheaper?But his decision may be based on how Apixaban reacts with your IBS?Did he not explain the reason for his decision?
Edoxaban seems to be flavour of the month right now no doubt due to creative pricing. I did hear a specialist a year or so ago say there is not much to choose from with any of the DOACs as far as side effects go,
Funny isn't it? Edoxaban used to be the most expensive and I was reluctantly put on it after all the other NOAC's caused me terrible side effects.
I found edoxaban to much kinder to my stomach and had none of the side effect that I had previously suffered
Hello yes I'm on edoxaban because Apixaban upset my ibs. I have been on edoxaban for I year and I can't say I've had any problems with it. I'm on several other drugs so it's hard to differentiate but as far as I'm away I don't have any problem with edoxaban. My cardiologist said it is the best one out there and he would have definitely put me on it if my GP hadn't.
