I am having the Medtronic Micra Pacemaker implanted to treat bradycardia, 47 to 53 beats per minute with two 5 sec pause episodes while awake and 4 3 sec pauses while asleep. No symptoms at all during episodes, but am dealing with chronic, persistent dizziness. Has anyone received the little Micra and will the pacer possibly alleviate debilitating dizziness. Thanks much for your responses.

If the dizzyness is due to low blood oxygen levels during the pauses it should. If it is not heart related it probably won't. Have youi had checks of your ears etc? I had viral labrynthitis years ago and get periodic attacks of dizziness.
Thanks BobD, I've had a head MRI and hearing exam and they found no labrynthitis. O2 sat is 97 with normal BP. Just don't know if Brady would cause ongoing and persistant dizziness and if pacemaker would alleviate the problem. I know the pauses can cause brief lightheadedness or syncope, but just don't understand the constant dizziness.
Have you seen an otolaryngologist, presumably the medic best placed to assess your dizziness?
Your pacemaker may well help - my pacemaker was implanted for the same reasons and I had been suffering from extreme dizziness because of the pauses. My pacemaker has alleviated most of this now and the odd episode of dizziness I have now is nowhere near as bad as before.
Thanks BG2017,
I had a couple severe vertigo episodes back in Oct and now have chronic dizziness. Very frustrating because I don't know if it's a vestibular, problem or the three pause episodes I've had in the last month. It was my understanding that pause or AF dizziness lasts only as long as the event and is not constant. Thanks again
I have the Medtronic SureScan, Dec 14, for Sick Sinus Syndrome that I got my PM for. I just get my normal regular vertigo and eye problems dizziness, no more blacking out, but the vertigo and my eye are different issues, so if you have vertigo the PM doesn’t fix that. I’ll say this though, my afib is so much less with episodes and when I get an episode it lasts a few hours not a day or more, and he hasn’t even turned on the other lead yet, that is April and that will help even more. Does your dr have anything to say about your dizziness, is yours from the bradycardia, if so then I would think yours would lessen? Were you blacking out when your heart stopped, the pauses, you would see it all go black literally?
I love Yorkies also! Thanks for your response iloveyorkies. I can't seem to get an answer as to whether my constant dizziness stems from bradycardia. I don't think it's heart related because I never feel it when I am in bed. It does seem to come on when I roll over or move my head quickly size to side. I've never blacked out or felt any symptoms when I've had pauses. I would never know I had any heart issues if it hadn't shown up on the 30 day holter. Good luck with your afib iloveyorkies. Not an enjoyable experience, but hopefully you continue to get better.
