I started to run to catch my train

Good morning everyone, I hope you are fine.

On my previous post I related my personal story with AFIB.

Today I would like to share with you what happened to me few hours ago.

This morning I tried to catch my train. I started to run from my apartment to the train station, it is about 1,6km and it takes normally 20min to go there by walk.

I was in hurry and I run to do it in 9 minutes.

My heart started to race from 80 to 120 and made 3 hours to slow down a little bit (aroud 102 right now).

I used to practice every sport like swimming, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics... And I thought my heart rest will drop not so long after the ablation.

Maybe I need few hours to calm my heart without drugs ?

I am almost 4 months post ablation and there are some significant difference between one day and an other.

My rest rate yesterday was around 73 and I guess today will be about 102.

I stopped every drugs 1 months ago but I felt uncomfortable I took bisoprol 1,25mg and Flécain 150mg I hope it will calm down the BPM.

From what I can record there is no AFIB, only fast and regular heart beat, I used to be between 55-65 BPM before the alation and I have to admit that being between 80-105 makes me feel uncomfortable and the last week I used to check my pulse seeral times a day.

If anybody has some advice to reduce my HR feel free to answer.

I'll try to being less anxious for the rest of the day.

Take care everybody!

When did you have your ablation? Raised heart rate post ablation is very common and can take up to nine months to return to "normal" levels.

I had my ablation on 28th November and this is the first time it is that high since the ablation. Do you think there is a link with this quick but intense run during the morning?

Yes I suspect that your heart takes longer to recover is all. Still very early days yet.

I'll try to do some elleptical machien to see how many horus do I need to get a low rest rate. Maybe it could bring answersn thank BobD!

Like BobD says, it can take 9 months for HR to reduce following ablation. I know that this was the case for me. If I am correct, you are 4 months post abalation, so still time for things to settle.

I'm no expert, but if you were in NSR, there would be no point in taking flec?

I hope this is the case for me, I should learn to be more patient but sometimes my HR is low and I feel great and not tired, in other case like today I feel like a zombie!

Well I'm no an expert too, the doctor told me to take 1 caps if a crisis occures. I think the beta blockers helped me but the flecn I doubt of it. This is the first time my HR reach this point, maybe the beta blockers are enough?
