I had a pacemaker fitted 6 weeks ago closely followed by a SV ablation. Recovery took a little while but no problem with the pm.
Yesterday I had 3 or 4 incidences of little shock waves round my heart, a kind of tingly feeling. Has anyone else experienced this sensation? Should I be worried?
I appreciate you comments.

Hi Lillesden.....I haven't had a pacemaker ( yet.....) but if I was in your situation I would contact the cardiac dept where you had your pacemaker etc implanted for reassurance.
You may well get some helpful replies here though as many are pacemaker recipients.
Thank you Yatsura. I haven't had any further incidents today so far & will be having a pacemaker check on Friday. I will certainly bring up the subject. Thank you for your advice.
If you look at page 36, you will see mention of something similar to what you describe. I believe very occasionally, people with pacemakers can experience some muscle twitching if the lead is slightly displaced. If you feel well and you are sure the pacemaker is working, I would say there is no immediate cause for concern, but I would suggest you discuss this with the pacemaker clinic technician tomorrow.
Some people are aware of the pacemaker being there, but get used to it quickly. You shouldn’t feel the pacemaker working. Some people may experience a ‘twitch’ when their pacemaker is working. If this happens, tell your pacemaker clinic so they can change the settings to stop this happening.
At first, your pacemaker may feel uncomfortable when you lie in certain positions, or perhaps when wearing certain clothes, but it can’t be damaged by either of these things.
Having showers and baths
It is important to keep the wound dry for the first few days while it heals. This is especially important if you have removable stitches in place. If your wound has been glued back together, you can shower straight away, but you should gently pat the area dry rather than rubbing it."
After 6 weeks the pm site is still quite swollen although the extensive bruising to my chest area is gradually fading. Heart surgeon said it could take 2-3 months to subside. It's no longer affecting the mobility of my shoulder so I'm not too worried. The incision healed nicely. Thank you for your comments.
As you scroll down the document, the number will appear at the top left corner of the document. Once you stop moving your finger, the number may disappear. It’s rather faint and easily missed.
Thank you Happyjo. As I haven't had any further incidents since Saturday I feel safe to leave it until Friday when I have a pacemaker check. I did have an appointment with the dental hygienist the day before these incidents occurred & although they said the equipment was safe to use with my pacemaker, I do wonder?
Hi, I too had a pacemaker CRT implanted 9 weeks ago, I get little shocks and reported this initially and was told by the pacemaker team that it’s quite normal and part of bedding in, but I still get these twinges so would very interested what your team says when you have your check up
