first part of pace and ablate done

After many years of PAF and trying pretty nearly every beta blocker there is I decided to take the plunge and go for Pace and Ablate as the last resort. I can only take rate drugs because of other heart related problems and couldn't face the uncertainty of Ablations not working in the first place. It all went quite well accept for the fact that it was a Friday and everyone was in a hurry to get home for the weekend and I was the last patient! I now am the owner of a posh new pace maker and don't really feel much different to before. This I am told will be different when they do the second part of the procedure in six weeks time when they ablate my sinus node. A bit scary but I am willing to try anything now for a better QOL . I'll let you now how it goes

Take it easy and keep that arm down. I'm three weeks into my St Jude device and starting to forget I have it. Still tying my arm to my side at night though lol. Keep us posted please.

Thanks Bob glad to hear your procedure is progressing well. Guess it's a race to see who comes out best in the end 😉

Thank you so much. Am I right in thinking that you had the first part of this and then managed to get relief without having to have the ablation or was it someone else?

Hi Reinaway Had mine 2021 and switched on July 2021. Now am feeling pretty good, golf 3 x per week and playing for the Seniors Team too. Take a blood thinner for the pace and ablate. I am 77

Best wishes

Dave

Hi there, glad to hear that you have the first part over with. I'm due this procedure on 26/9 and feeling quite nervous about it. Best wishes

Hi Sue yes I was nervous as well but the thought of perhaps being able to drop some of the drugs and also the uncertainty of episodes appearing with no warning and ruining my QOL has driven me on to having this procedure.
