I tend to get dizzy to the point of feeling like my eyes are rolling when I've been lying on my back with a pillow directly under my neck and head tilted back so I try to avoid that.

Thank you !!! It’s not a nice feeling !! Especially when I have to be up for work ! It’s bad enough waking with Afib !!!!!

It may be totally un AF related, recent cold or earache or needing an eye test or something? I've recently had a bout of kidney stones, and the morphine made me feel dizzy and sick periodically the last 24 hours and that whole sitting here feeling like you're going to puke is horrid.

I hope you feel better soon !!! I hope it clears up the spinning feeling is awful i must admit I do link anything new to AF !!

I get this periodiaclly since having viral labrinthitis about six years ago. Nothing to do with AF of course. Don;t we all blame that for everything!

Thank you Bob we sure do !! I have had vertigo but not very often but to be getting it in a morning seems a bit strange? Hopefully it will clear up !

The only times l had dizziness was when the AF had progressed debilitatingly after about 2 yrs post diagnoses and prior to Ablation...In fact it was a question frequently asked by Cardiologist /EP. 'Do you feel dizzy at all ' it's worth a mention to your medical team just to be on the safe side...

As others have said though not everything is due to the heart condition.

I still have it after a bout of labrynthitis several years ago... some days worse than others... always when laying down or rolling over onto a different side... makes it slightly more troublesome when having an examination at the GP or hospital ... i got it worse when I was on bisoprolol... now just on apixaban until my second ablation next week ... hope you manage to get it fixed or managed ! 🌺

Thank you ! Me too !!! I’m at hospital next week going to mention it to them ! Good job the travel sickness pills work on my walk to work 😄

That must be awful for you. I had periods of it a few times when getting out of bed, it would only last a few hours, but was horrible. Since having my ablations it appears to have gone, fingers crossed.

Hope you're soon feeling better.

Thank you jean !! I think ablation will be mentioned at my appointment next week !! But it scares the life out of me ! I kept hoping it will all right itself ! Eileen

I have something similar but mine is due to bradycardia, low heart rate..

My heart rate can drop to the 40's at night and if I jump out of bed I get dizzy or like vertigo.

I get vertigo if I turn over on my right side while in bed and have been diagnosed with Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) an inner ear problem ( awful feeling ). I've been able to avoid it for several years now. My best to you.

Yours is an old post but I was searching for BPPV as my wife has it for the second time. The first time it cleared up on its own but this time it is more troublesome and more than when turning over in bed. and many other head movements can cause it. She goes swimming three times a week and is careful when turning.

This afternoon she started to do some ironing and it started again she was not near enough a chair to sit down and fell backwards taking the iron with her. I grabbed it as quickly as possible but it burnt her wrist that has since swollen up from where it hit her. She twisted her knee ad hit her head against a cupboard door. I moved the ironing board out of the way to try to help her up. I couldn't get her up and as we are both 84 decided to call 999. The operator asked her questions for ages and eventually two paramedics arrived. They got her into a chair asked more questions and gave her a good check over. She was not keen on being taken A&E to sit there for hours. She had already made an appointment with her GP about this for Monday, She had not been too bad since until getting unto bed tonight.

Seasider I am sorry you and your wife are going through this. Hopefully your Doctor will be to rule out water or infection in her ear and if it is BPPV there is a maneuver the Doctors can do that puts the crystals that cause the vertigo back in place. My ENT tried several times to bring on vertigo so he could perform the maneuver but of course the vertigo refused to start. The last time I had vertigo the room was spinning very fast. I hope your wife recovers quickly from her fall and gets this sorted out.

Thank you for your reply !!! I find hard to sleep on my left as it starts my AF off !! Appreciate your comments ! And yes it is awful !

in reply toEdm174

Do read up on BPPV. This could be the problem, as Sunny-fl mentioned.
