One of those exercises is Pad Boxing. Which I performed today. We do it in 2 minute bouts. Quite aerobic. I think I went a bit too far today. Pulse went up quite high maybe 120 BPM, then it dropped to less than 40 BPM etc. Remained a bit erratic for a few minutes & also felt unstable. My age is 76 yrs. Cardiologist at hospital told me to do whatever I could. But as I somewhat compete well. I don't know when to stop, I'm afraid.
Any experience of exercise extress. ??

I did seven 10 second full speed tabatas with 20 second rest the other day on my bike coming back to the house and then went to the gym in the afternoon and again worked out hard doing compound lifts. No response from my a-fib. Today in early morning hours got up to go the bathroom and a-fib cranked up blocking sleep, causing weakness and dizziness. Had plans to do resistance training today but now will rest and go at it tomorrow! A-fib is an SOB.
Hi Snowcatdaddy, you didn't mention your age so it's difficult to judge if you're over doing it. Afib is inconvenient I know, so all I can say is look after yourself and keep doing what you enjoy doing and long may it continue, Best wishes to you.
cycleman73 only wanted to show the capriciousness of the disease- it can come from an innocuous situation like just going to the bathroom causing an episode while fitness training not an issue. It can attack at any time. Thanks
Hi Hugo40. I booked a session with a personal trainer last week and my PAF chose that hour to play up. I was cycling quite fast on the bike when my heart rate went from 124 to 166 in seconds. It then went back to 79, up to 154 and carried on like this for 8 minutes. I don't think the trainer will have me back again as he was looking a lot more worried than I was. Oh, the joys of AF! 😊
