Hello everyone, it's day 5 and I'm doing really well. Little update, on the day everything went smoothly we arrived at 11am and I went down at 2.30. I was very nervous particularly because I've had an anaesthetic problem in the the 90's which resulted in resuscitation so as you can imagine I was more than a little terrified.
But the anaethesist put my mind at rest and explained all the precautions he was taking.
I was down longer than expected 5 hours in all so my partner and daughters were a little concerned but everything was good. The EP said he'd tried to put me back in AF after he'd finished and my heart stayed in sinus. It was a cryoablation in the end.
Since then I'm resting lots I am having migraine with arua each day but only 1 now. My esophagus is very sore but easing each day too. The groin bruise is so far about the size of a 50p and the incision on my wrist has healed completely with no bruising.
All in all a very good experience and I'm looking forward to getting out and about in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for all the good wishes. X
So pleased to hear that all went well. Long may that continue and please let us know how you get on.
Jean
Huh....so what was all the fuss about then.....smiley face (can't do them on laptop). Great news Sue but don't fall into the trap of doing too much, too quick!!!
I’m day six post ablation....My head is killing too. I have a migraine without the aura today. :-(. I hope your recovery continues and take it very easy for the next couple of weeks
Hi glad your ablation went well. I am shall I saw you before you went down, you were opposite me but I couldn't talk as my throat was so sore. I was the one that had ablation abandoned due to they found a clot. Can you tell me what they do to your wrist as mine is black and blue goes halfway up arm and down to thumb.
Feel better today at last the sore throat is better. They have put me back on warfarin and back to St.Georges in 6/8weeks and hopefully the ablation 10/12 weeks later.
