Bisoprolol Fuerate

I recently had a 24hr ecg which showed I had 4% Ventrical Ectopic Burden, The cardiologist thinks it wouldn’t be unreasonable to add a small dose of bisoprolol fuemerate . (I’ve had these extra ectopic hearbeats for 20 yrs that I know of,) I’m 70 and just a bit fearful of the side effects I’m reading about, as I’m very active on s daily basis. I’m not on any other medication. Appreciate any comments

Hopefully a small dose might not give you too much side effects, although I couldnt take it as daily dose due to taking my heart rate too low,and breath!ess. Some people have had other betablockers and fared better.Trial and error I expect! Best wishes x

It can take a few weeks for side effects to settle but really helped with ectopics

It is very much one man’s meat is another’s poison and the only way to know is try, if it works great, if you do have side effects such as drowsiness and breathless on exercise then perhaps go back to see your doctor.

I felt terrible even on a really low dose , tired all the time, brain fog etc etc.

When I stopped taking it I had fewer ectopics.

This probably doesn't help !

I do keep some as a "Pill In Pocket" as on occasion I do get SVT

I have taken 2.5mg now for the last 1.25 years due to SVT, initially it took my body time to get used to it. Tired earlier than usual, bit breathlessness when out rambling over the hills. However after 2 months this all settled down and the side effects have disappeared. I have my ablation April/May and so hopefully will be off them but for now stopping SVT kicking in they have been a god send.

I’ve started my first dose this morning so will just monitor how things develop.

Yes, I think so....I took my pulse twice today and normally I’m waiting for the missed beats but today was the first time I felt a continuous pulse. Even throughout my jogging years I got used the ‘missed beats’ 😊
