Don’t laugh but why.......

Since I stopped my Rivaroxaban and Flecainide just over two weeks ago am I getting cold feet? It hardly makes me look sexy when I am getting into bed at night with some ragg-wool socks on. Is it simply a coincidence I have no idea. Three weeks ago when I was still on them I was skiing in -9C and my feet were fine. I know compared to what most of you are going through this is a drop in the ocean but I am intrigued. Apart from a noticeable increase in ectopics everything else seems fine (touching large piece of wooden furniture as I type that)

Happy New Year. I'm intrigued to know why you have stopped your meds - I'm on the same - but as for the cold feet (I thought you were nervous about something) I think that may be just a coincidence. I think side effects are norm for any medication but hope they warm up soon ................. new sexy socks in the mean time?

Because three months after the Ablation for the Flutter and two and a half months after the Cardioversion for the Fibrillation caused by the Ablation my Consultant said “you’re good to stop, just carry 200 mg of Flecainide with you and keep an eye on your Kardia if the Fibrillation comes back”. Simple as. If the Fibrillation returned the plan would be to go back to daily Flecainide. Although 63 I have a zero score for needing to take the Rivaroxaban as well so I think thats why.

You haven't started taking a beta blocker have you?

Beware of warming up very cold feet with hot water - it is the way to get chilblains. Socks are better but I think the term 'sexy socks' may be an oxymoron.

I was on the Beta Blockers up to the Cardioversion but not since. I suppose having been on two “black box or cupboard or whatever the Americans call Rivaroxaban and Flecainide for three months there are bound to be some changes when I stop taking them. All part of the fun of the AF journey LOL

Never a dull moment! Do you have a slow heart rate?

Normal tick over is 60 bpm but interesting was 55 bpm when I checked it this morning. Luckily apart from when I had the flutter / fibrillation it is normally steady.

I've usually got cold feet and pay attention to keeping them from getting too cold. My resting pulse is normally between 45 and 55.

Does Rivaroxaban only have a black box warning or do all anitcoags?

Don’t know but I certainly read on here that Rivaroxaban and Flecainide both have black box warnings (whatever they may be)
