Does Hawthorne help to lower heart rate?

Beside digoxin, beta blockers , calcium channel blockers, any natural supplements to lower heart rate?

I think the only people competent to comment would be a qualified Herbalist, not one of them personally, and I would caution you take advice from anyone unless you know they are qualified. Herbs cannot be taken like drugs as they are prescribed as part of a wholistic process. I use herbal remedies a lot - but wouldn’t dream of taking something which may affect my heart without professional advice.

In the past in my pre-AF days I used to take a hawthorn supplement to help with high blood pressure- it is known to have a lowering effect on blood pressure- but this was on advice of a trusted medical herbalist. Honestly Now that I have AF i wouldn’t take any supplements like hawthorn that impact on the heart without taking advice from a qualified practitioner- not worth the risk!!

I did a small amount of research on Hawthorne when AF first struck and the abiding memory of that is that it is powerful stuff and there is very few I would trust to get the dose right. I have therefore kicked that can further down the road.
