Hi all what type of monitor do some of you use to record events as they happen? What would you recommend? Have had an episode of palpitations at 1am this morning & tight chest & breathlessness but by time paramedics came obs etc were fine & hate feeling like a fraud! Would love to be able to show docs evidence if possible. Thank you

I have an app on my phone which uses the flash light and camera to act as a pulseoxymeter. I also have a "Crane Connect" watch on my wrist that takes a heart rate reading every 5 minutes so I can see trends. The app on the phone is useful to see rythm not just rate (it plots the waves) and although not ideal for diagnosis it gives me a ballpark idea of where I'm at. I have to say it's been pretty accurate and I know what my HR SHOULD look like and what it looks like when I'm "off"
A Kardia may be of use, if you manage to find your phone, unlock it, open the app, stick your fingers on the pads before the episode has passed.
A fitness tracker may show that you have an episode , but probably only by showing some strange numbers, mine would show periods of HR over 240 bpm when I was experiencing palpitations.
I have a Kardia. When I was at my EP’s on Tuesday he asked me to show him my last recording which was from that morning. Yesterday I had a Tachycardia (140bpm) for about 1/2 hour in the middle of a 5 hour AF episode so I emailed my EP and asked for advice. I was very impressed that he replied to my email 7 minutes later.
