Sub clinical hypothyroidism

Hi all,

I woke up choking at night and then felt my heart was beating very slow - had an ablation 4 weeks ago.

I didn’t feel right so went to the A&E, they did bloods and said my TSH was 3 times normal and it may be sub clinical hypothyroidism.

I’ll be making an appointment to see the does. Just thought I’d ask if anyone has this or know about this along with AFib?

Thanks you in advance for any advise or knowledge transfer!

Have you been on amiodarone?

Hi BobD, I’m not on any medication apart from anticoagulants for 3 weeks post ablation which I came of a week ago.

Hi Nenar

Get your doc to check your TSH again. Have you been feeling really tired lately? The pills you'll probably be prescribed should really help you and may even prevent further AF attacks. Unfortunately, I've heard that AF and hypothyroidism can often go hand in hand. I was diagnosed hypothyroid last year after years of suffering and blaming AF for my symptoms.

Please let us know how you get on.

Jean
