Pace & ablate experiences

I have not posted for a while but am due to visit the EP next week where he indicated I would be offered a pace and ablate for my fast heartrate. If they destroy the AV node so you are slave to the pacemaker how is it that the heart is still irregular? As this procedure is a permanent treatment I have to get my decision right. I have read that if the heart is paced long term this leads to heart failure. Has anyone seen this study report?

I would be grateful if anyone who has had this procedure to answer my post so to give me a view from patient experience.
