St Thomas’ appointment today

Well a bit of a stressful journey there! Good news. I’m in sinus rhythm. I can stop Flecainide and start to decrease Bisoprolol. They hope this will sort out the breathlessness. Also a chest physician referral. They’ll see me again in 3 months.

Good old Tommy’s! Glad you are doing well.

I was in persistent AF for more than five years while living overseas. On returning two years ago I requested a referral to St Thomas’ and have never looked back. The care and consideration I have had there has been outstanding. Two ablations later I have now been totally AF free for 5 months. We are lucky to be able to access such a good cardiology team.

My local hospital is not too good. They were supposed to refer me for a chest referral back in May. St Thomas’ is going to get me seen there. Which I would prefer.m

Thank you. Strange as this may sound, I’m quite nervous about stopping the drugs. Suddenly they seem like a comfort blanket. Weird!

I get that...It'll be weird not taking what has been so important to keep us well....part of me will think...'are you sure you're ok?' Best wishes
