I have had bypass surgery I have a pacemaker defibrillator I can tell you that the defibrillator works really well. Before all of this it was hard for me to even take an aspirin now I take a lot of pills it seems it really bugs me and kind of scares me also I just wonder if anyone else feels this way? I am 60yrs old with a lot of heart history I have to thank God for still being here because I shouldn't be I also have had very good doctors that has worked with me thank God for them as well.

Welcome to the forum Homers. It's good to hear that your pacemaker defibrillator has really helped make you feel better. Reading that will give others on this site, who are on that same path, hope of feeling normal again.

I think most of us hate taking any form of tablet, but if they help make us feel better and give protection, then we just have to go with it.

It's good to hear that you are pleased with the care given by your doctors, that really helps if you feel you can trust them.

I hope you stay well now.

well done Homers- you are very positive

Welcome Homer’s! Im 65 and have been healthy all my life, was happy I never needed any long term prescriptions. Now after 3 yr, A Fib is well controlled and I’m on 5 daily meds!!! Im finally coming to terms with it. My brotherinlaw just had a defibrillator implanted. How does it feel when it goes off?

Hi Homers

After a heart valve repair I had amiodarone, bisoprolol, furosemide ,rampiril and warfarin. 4 years later I take a reduced dose of rampiril for blood pressure, warfarin as an anticoagulant and that's it. I have changed my lifestyle fairly radically , lost weight and improved my fitness. Currently fighting a battle to bring down my blood pressure naturally. Good luck on your journey and welcome to the crazy heart club.
