That's an interesting and useful article. Thanks for posting the link, Kaz.

Like many others with AF, I assume, my greatest concern is that I have an increased risk of a stroke (even when taking an anticoagulant). I am well aware of the FAST test and also knew about a severe headache being an indication. What I didn't know about was the pins and needles indicator of a TIA.

This all leads me to wonder what else I don't know. So ….. especially if you have had a TIA or stroke …. what 'warning signs' did you experience? With hindsight, is there anything that happened prior to your TIA or stroke that could have indicated that it was going to happen?

One of the things I experienced which made me think I had had an TIA instead of Mg symptoms - in hindsight - was an olfactory hallucination - which can also be a sign.

Thank you. That's certainly something I wasn't aware of.

I just finished reading your article. Wow. I guess I was more surprised at the 3rd one he had. Good article to pass along. Thank you.

Thanks Kaz. Very interesting, very inspiring.

Thank you so much for that link. My mother has had several TIAs and her symptoms included blindness in one eye, unable to process writing or telling the time and tingling (not exactly pins and needles). She recovered well but the last one has left her with difficulty reading and reduced eyesight. In view of her age (97 on Friday) she has had no treatment.

I hope you’re mum’s okay. It’s good to hear about different experiences so we know what to be aware off.

OH has now had 2 TIA’s, during the first one he had tingling in his fingers, and kept “forgetting” words, during the second one, he was reading, and couldn’t make sense of the words. He has made a complete recovery though, so that is something to be thankful for!
