Hi awaiting transoesophageal echocardiogram to decide on how my asd should be closed .I was diagnosed with af January which is very settled so far on bisoprolol. Anxious as worried about findings and have gone from feeling well to worrying about every little thing.last couple nights have felt pulse on left side between 4th and 5th rib and had to move so feels comfortable. Anyone else had this?the waiting and not knowing is the worst bit.

Redwing the unknown is always scary isn't it. As the old saying goes, "the only thing you have to fear is fear itself." You will be sedated for the TOE so will not know about it although you may have a scratchy throat for a day or two afterwards.

Think positively about what it will mean to you once the procedure is over and the team have a plan to sort out the rest of your heart's little foibles. Somebody on another thread mentioned a line from ''''Marigold Hotel which I love. " It will all be OK in the end and if it isn't OK it isn't the end. "
