I was wondering if its normal to still feel a mild ache in my chest after doing work. Its been 1 month since my ablation and rhythm has been good been taken off most meds except I'm still on 100mg a day of metroprolol. How long does it take for you to feel back to normal as far as heart healing time goes and could the minor ache be tied to the heart healing process??

I think that as long it is an ache and mild it is propably ok and I know I used to get that for a while after ablation, can’t remember now for how long though. If you are at all worried you should mention it to your doctor.
I found I kept improving for up to 9 months after the procedure - I felt well immediately after the first ablation and overdid things massively and ended up back in hospital & needing a second, urgent ablation so do go slowly and steadily.
Often these aches and minor symptoms are warning signs to stop and rest but we are so programmed these days to ignoring them because we want to get on with things that we can often do more harm. Patience is the the name of the game.
Best wishes

If you are worried then please contact your arrhythmia nurse but I would say it is not unusual. Most people including EPs under estimate the time it takes to recover from ablation which is why we produced a patient guide to Recovering from Ablation . Available from AF Association under patient resources- fact sheets and scroll down to R for Recovering. .
