HAS ANYONE KNOWN AN AV NODE ABLATEMENT TO FAIL. I ASK BECAUSE I HAD THIS DONE IN MARCH AND I AM STILL AWARE OF MY AF. THE OP DID NOT GO TO PLAN AS THE MACHINERY KEPT CRASHING AND HE HAD TO BURN 3 TIMES. ALSO THEY FOUND I HAD FLUID ON MY HEART, I AM DUE TO BACK FOR A CHECKUP IN JULY, I HAVEN'T RUNG THEM AS TO BE QUITE HONEST, I AM FED UP WITH DOCTORS AT THE MOMENT.
WOULD APPRECIATE TO HEAR IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM, MY EP ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD FEEL 100% BETTER. OR IS IT STILL EARLY DAYS?

Pacmaker and AV node ablation WILL NOT stop AF. You may still be able to feel the atrium fibrillating but the AVN stops the signals getting down to the ventricle thus ensuring that the pacemaker keeps a steady ventricular rate . This is all quite normal and should have been explained.
Hi my av node ablation didn’t work as well as hoped it was last week, I’m still having ectopics originating from the bottom of my heart but I do feel less breathless. So am hopeful it will settle down. I never feel my afib apart from breathless and inability to walk up hills etc so couldn’t advise on that.
