Coffee and Tea
Yes this came up last week here in UK I think. I always say that "facts" have a finite life and are liable to change without notice.
Bit disappointed I am not a rebel anymore but pleased for everyone else!
Interesting read. I went decaf ages ago thinking it was the right thing to do as I felt the caffeine DID bring on the AF. Just show's we never know what to believe!
stay well,
Blue
I drink a few cups of tea per day (without any dramas) and if I have a coffee it's always decaf now. I have had regular coffee and ended up with tachycardia. Today's decaf is pretty good and I dont feel like I'm missing out. I am a coffee snob though so never drink instant
Yes, I am slowly introducing a bit more caffeine. Had 2 squares of dark choc per day for a while, now having weak tea and may well try a bit of coffee. I suggest if you have been off all caffeine for a while you will have to go very slowly as the body is likely to react more until it becomes routine.
After seeing this last week i am giving myself up to 3 cups of "normal" coffee.
When my AF first appeared caffeine was one of the many possible triggers, so i went decaf straight away. I was putting two spoons of instant in a mug and also drinking "Red Bull" a couple of times a week
After a year or so i did have the occasional "real" one, with no ill effects.
I am giving the Red Bull drinks a wide berth though.
I have never subscribed to the theory that caffeine is bad for me, and never seen any evidence personally. I still have my very strong real coffee every morning, and cups of tea throughout the day. I still take alcohol as well, but probably not as much as I used to as it is fattening and I'm watching my weight more than I was.
Last week I was suffering through a very bad cold, and the cold relief tablets I was taking contained caffeine as well as paracetamol and a decongestant. They didn't have any bad effect on me either, and certainly seemed to help with the symptoms.
