I'm not on apixaban and take xarelto instead. I've woken myself up at night several times recently by biting my tongue and didn't think that there was a relationship between this and medication. After reading your post I'm now wondering if there possibly is a connection, as something I've never done before.

I have been on apixaban for a couple of months, and wear a pacemaker because of irreversible persistent AF. I have had no discernable problem, definitely no nocturnal tongue biting and I do find it much preferable to Warfarin because there is no longer any need to sit around waiting in the anticoagulant clinic to have my INR checked nor do I have to worry about the effect that other medication or a an attack of flu or the like might have on my INR. Definitely an improvement.
