Is there anyone who has had a cardioversion and afterwards had a change in their blood pressure? My husbands had always averaged 120/70 now today less than three weeks after cardioversion procedure has gone up to 150/90 then second reading 130/90.
Thank you

My bp is always very low after cv they have to give me meds and fluid to bring it up ,but my bp is never that high
interesting as I am finding similar after my CV. after my minor stroke back last November as a result of an undiagnosed AF I had my BP measured many times before my CV 6 weeks ago and they were all normal but since it seems to have gone up. at my CV follow up last week the doctor suggested I now need high BP pills which I want to avoid so have requested another consultation with a different cardiologist.
Hi thanks for reply. Could I ask what your bp is up to now? My husband is taking bisoprolol since and before cardioverdion which I believe lowers blood pressure also.
I've been on 2.5mg bisoprolol twice a day (plus apixaban and a statin) since my stroke and still on them after the CV. my BP last week prior to the consultation was 143/90 (may have been a touch of "white coat syndrome" in that as well) and measured since by me has been around 134/87 or so. so according to BP charts that is moderate-high BP. I want to chat to another cardiologist (the one I consulted initially who wasn't available last week) as to why the other wants me treated for high BP with drugs as I think I don't need (or want) them. I need to lose some weight as that has crept up over the last year with the AF as i've not been exercising so much, but now I'm back in NSR I'me doing a bit more (just had a 6km run) so hope to drop weight through exercise and diet. my HR is stable and around 50-55 at rest.
I had a CV in November that put me back into NSR for 4 days or so. Whilst my BP didn't change materially, my heart rate dropped noticeably, from regular high 70s or 80s down to mid 40s and even 36 at one point. No change to medication was made, though I reduced my daily bisoprolol from 10mg to 5mg independently as a precaution. As soon as I went back into (asymptomatic) AF on the fifth day my HR went back up to 78 to 80. Cardiac consultant seemed unconcerned when advised, so perhaps this is common?
