Hi all. I’m down to have my 1st ablation some time this year. I get Af maybe once a month max take 100mg flecanide and it goes in a few hours. My ep said an ablation is the ideal solution. My question is can having an ablation suddenly make Af worse ?
Cheers

Probably, but not likely. You are not really having a lot of problems where you are now, but usually things progress. The experience and skill of your EP is THE most important thing for ablation success...for this procedure it really matters! It's ok to ask how many afib ablations he's done.
I think so, you can and should "shop around" when it comes to afib ablations. An appendicitis is one thing, but ablations for afib are tricky, and require an EP that is experienced and knows what he is doing. I'm sure in your area there are options. I'm not saying that whoever you are working with is not the one, but you need to be proactive... and it's worth looking a bit further afield if necessary, trust me, it's worth it!
