I am getting off this site. All these abbreviations are making me crazy!

Sorry to hear this you obviously came here for a reason.
Maybe the following will help:
EP - Electrophysiologist, a cardiologist specialising in heart rhythms
PAF- Paroxsysmal (ie occasional) Atrial Fibrillation
PVI - Pulmonary Vein Isolation - ablation treatment for AF
PVC - Premature Ventricular contractions, extra beats that make your heart feel like it's flip flopping
PACs - similar to a PVC but this is a premature atrial contraction, they often result in PVCs
INR - International Normalised Ratio - indicates coagulation time ratio to normal for warfarin patients
PIP = Pill in Pocket = medication taken as when needed rather than regularly
QOL = Quality of life
NOAC = Non Vitamin K Oral anti Coagulant (eg apixaban)
DOAC - Direct Oral AntiCoagulant (Many doctors are referring to them as this now)
NSR - Normal Sinus Rhythm - a heart rhythm not in any arrhythmia
TOE = Trans Oesophageal Echocardiogram. They put a camera down your throat to look at your heart with ultrasound.
CV = cardioversion, more properly DCCV Direct current cardioversion. They shock your heart to re-boot the natural pacemaker.
ECG/EKG - Electrocardiogram - a simple test used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity

There's a list of abbreviations at the side of this page under Pinned Posts.
Please come back we are willing to help you in any way we can.
It seems a shame to miss out on the benefits this forum has to offer.....maybe you could spare a thought for all the regular contributors who would have to spend more of their time checking out the spelling of some very long and complicated words which they may have to use several times a week!!!
Or, you could make a note of Pete's fabulous contribution above!!
I cheated, it is the AFA official list that jeanjeannie50 referred to in her reply. Trouble is the AFA list is in a slightly obscure location for those that are not too familiar with the site.
Pete
Do play cricket for the Aussies too!!
I posted (pasted) with the very best of intentions 😜
Pete
that's not cheating then, that's using initiative for the common good!!!!!
Google is your friend 😜
Oh how I agree with you - that’s fine to say they are under Pinned Posts, but to have to keep referring to them every sentence or so can be very tedious. I have often found I just give up trying to read some of the posts.
Problem is that if we used the full name for everything associated with Atrial Fibrillation the posts on this forum would be even harder to read.
I t is a shame that they cannot dream up some short names to describe each of these names as they do in botany but of course it is too late for that.
Keep trying it and it might be etched on your brain eventually. I have had Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation for 26 years now so I have had plenty of practice unfortunately.
Pete
I agree. It is one of my pet peeves.
