Hi Carig. I had exactly that issue only mine began during the ablation. It proved to be a bit of a mystery but has resolved after 7 weeks. Just left with wretched ectopics now.

Ah thanks mac 33. I feel happier now. Sorry to hear you left with ectopics. Hope they go

Sorry Carig, but it’s not something I’ve heard of before, if it continues, I would contact your doctor......hope you feel better soon

Are you taking Lansaprazole or similar? I ask because they are known to allow digestive system bugs to flourish. I would see GP.

Taking pantoprazole gastro resistant tabs along with all others

I blamed everything for my stomach pains. Meds, having an ablation etc etc.

I was recently diagnosed with gallstones

And my stomach problems after ablation turned out to be diverticulitis!

Omg. Was pain shifting from side to side and dragging like you lifted something too heavy

Sorry, didn't mean to alarm you 😊 Diverticulitis comes with lots of other nasty symptoms including fever. When I developed daily diarrhoea after my ablation it was blamed on Lansaprazole first, then a blood test showed I had a bowel infection but my (ex) GP didn't treat it correctly and I ended up in hospital. It did me a favour in a way because now we know it's not just IBS, 'Keep taking the pills'. The pain was central btw. Maybe the general stress of an ablation exacerbates minor complaints?

I only mentioned it to show that it is unwise to blame things on AF/ablation without investigation, though it is sometimes reassuring to find symptoms are common.

I hope your pain turns out to have a simple explanation!
