Getting ready for my pacemaker next week . Just wanted to know if your heart is beating at 90-130 beats a minute what will pacemaker do ? Or is it switched on after the node is ablated . Hope We get to Cardiff with snow drifts still blocking road .The council ensure us they will be here by Wednesday to get us out .I am so pleased I am coming off these horrible drugs and will be able to get my life back in 5 months . Any tips for recovery welcomed and thank you for all your help.

It is unlikely that the pacemaker will do much at all until the AV node ablation other than tick quietly away at about 70 bpm. Your ventricular rate may continue higher I suspect but it is important to have it fitted and working well in advance of the AVNA so that its function can be tested.

As far as recovery goes please listen to your body and do not try to push through fatigue or pain.
