Been to my first cardiac consultation today was on metoprolol before this. Been getting breathless still so have been prescribed bisoprolol 5 mg and digoxin 125mg. Planning cardioversion in the near future. Happy with progress now been made. Start new tabs tomoro😬

Hi Lindyloo. This may have nothing to do with a fib but some years ago before afib. I was given metoprolol for blood pressure probs. I had had asthma as a child but relative few attacks as an adult. Long story short the metoprolol caused an exacerbation of my asthma sx. When my doc confirmed this I was taken off it and haven't had breathing problems since. It is now listed as one of my allergies (causing asthma sx). Just a thought about metoprolol and breathing probs. My doc said this is not an uncommon side effect of some beta-blockers. Worth looking into. irina1975
