I have been on warfarin for a PE & a DVT since January and last week I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes also, this has massively motivated me to lose more weight as I was told 32! Years ago I would one day be diabetic! Really pleased it’s held off for so long any advice please.

Diabetic
Walk, walk and more walking. Your heart loves that sort of exercise and will help control all the other problems.
I'm insulin dependent and in permanent AF. My AF doesn't like the levemir injection each day, but..... Hey!!!! My advice would be to cut the carbs. Buy the carbs and cals app or book, read labels avidly, read 'think like a pancreas'. Healthy fats, good protein, lots of vegetables, moderate fruit and small amounts of unrefined carbs. Go to diabetes.co.uk they've got loads of advice on there.
I was just flipping over into the diabetic range when I bought DR Mark Hyman's Ten Day Detox book. Following his diets I have lost two stones, am now overweight not obese, my blood sugars are back in the normal range and my AF occurences have halved. A recent bout of stress took me off the diet, half a stone crept back and sure enough the AF is increasing again so I am about to go on another round as I have been reading some studies showing another two stone would help with the AF, whether I have an ablation or not. Go for it!
Yes sorry I should also have said that I can’t really walk I get massively out of breath! I also have a terrible bad back, we’ve both lost 3 stone and since finding out last Thursday I’ve massively stuck to a sugar free diet and started having wholemeal bread and lost 3lb this week too. I also find it difficult as I have toilet issues because of radiotherapy years ago, I have been on Methycelulose which has helped me lose weight but my issues have been bad recently so these tablets have been increased now. Thanks though.
