Anyone diagnosed with Cor Triatriam (Triatrial Heart)? Apparently it's very rare and a form of congintal heart disease.. so rare it's 0.01% of the population that has a Triatrial Heart. I'm 27. Heart palps, short of breath. Have 1st degree av block, a small ASD hole, and possibly another small one. Have had many tests and doctor think I may need to go to a congenital heart specialist. Apparently I was born with all this but they are barely finding it now at 27. Any advise of any of this would be great!

Hi Dagleyvd . Your post has appeared in the area for those of us suffering from Atrial Fibrillation (AF, or AFib). Your condition may be of interest to us, but I suspect that there is a more relevant section somewhere here on Health Unlocked. I hope you find some answers, knowledge is power!

Hi DagleyVD

I am not a doctor but am member of the Royal society of Medicine and attended 2 study days on different aspects of Adults with CHD this week.

As Goldie has said, it is very specialised but one thing that was said was that anyone with problems should be referred to the specialists straight away- it's important to get specialist input quickly.

There are many with palpitations on this forum but the treatment is very different if one has CHD so do seek specialist help ASAP Good luck and let us know how you get on

I didn't realize this was afib only.. haven't looked to much into this website. Did search it on here but didn't find anything. Currently under the care of cardiologist until I get a referral out to a specialist in a bigger city if I can afford the insurance. I'm in a small town in Texas and any heart institution specializing in what I have is more than 2 hrs away. I just figured I would ask. Have been in his care for about 6 months now and running test after test. What made me go was heart palpitations that suddenly came on. Have them every once in a while at night time and feel short of breath.. but thanks anyways to you all. There's not much about what I have..

it's fine to talk to us on this forum as everyone has the same problem with palpitations- it's just that you need more specialist help- I do hope your insurance company will help you. If I were in your position, I would look up details of your condition, approaching the specialist centre for written information about when treatment is needed, so that you can argue the case with the insurance company- I'm pretty sure the centre would say that you should be seen quickly at their hospital and it might help to push your claim Let us know how you get on - good luck!!
