Hi Mazza
Our heart rate slows down when we are asleep. So what you are describing sounds quite normal.
What is your usual heart rate?
You know I do wonder whether having these Kardia's causes unnecessary worry .

Hi Mazza I have similar when having 40 winks, I wake soaked in sweat and slightly dizzy HR jumping all over the place from 45-90, its as if heart went that slow and body tries to compensate by making it go faster, GP says it could be low blood sugar and not AF so now I keep some jelly babies close by it has worked most of the time but a couple of times I have gone into AF but it's only for 5-10 mins the reverts back with out having to use Flec hope it helps.
It wasn't so much the low heart rate as struggling to wake up felt strange
My hubby has an irregular heartbeat and takes meds for it. One night he fell asleep in his recliner and I had the most difficult time waking him up! I started to panic, but I shook him so hard he came out of whatever deep coma he was in. It took some doing. He saw his cardiologist after that and nothing was detected. It was very scary however! Hasn't happened too much since - not that deep of a state anyway.
Hi Mazza, I have been admitted to hospital after having chest and left arm discomfort. My only apparent other symptom is a fluctuating heart rate. I have been in SR since amiodarone helped me. Each time it slows I end up feeling really very faint and my chest feels tight. It went down to 38 last night but not for long. Very unpleasant feeling.
Mine's normally 53 (thanks, bisoprolol...) I should think it goes lower when I'm asleep. But struggling to wake must have felt awful. Perhaps discuss with your doctor?
Good morning. I tried to respond twice on my phone and lost all the text.
I have had a similar experience and welcome suggestions. The first week of this month my cardiologist was on vacation and I saw another DR. I was short of breath, weak, fatigued, anxious and for the last three weeks my ankles are swelling. Its gone by morning. So immediately I think congestive heart failure. I also have kidney disease, not on dialysis, which can produce the same symptoms, at least the swelling. I also had low blood pressure and elevated heart rate. 85/54/74 97/48/90. this went on for 2 days. I had blood work ordered by the temp Dr and and an EKG. He could not tell me why. But he is not a cardiologist and he is brand new to this hosp.
It started again yesterday. Its completely debilitating. The only thing new my life is sleep apnea. I was diagnosed a month ago and after 5 masks, I think I have been sleeping better. That is a big deal. and I started taking magnesium, .
I've been on Amiodarone since May 2017. I'm down to 200 mg a day. I was only on it because Flecinide stopped working for me and I was preparing for my first cardio version. It lasted 5 days. The second one was July 26 and lasted 6 days. I have had persistent AFib since April this year. Prior to that I was able to convert on my own, ahh those were the days. In April I lost my 29 yr old grandson to cardiac arrest. It was devastating and I think had a lot to do with the fact that I cant convert on my own anymore. Of course, I'm 75 and have had Afib since 2007. I'm not like any 75 yr old you have met. I was healthy, fit, and lived the life of a 60 year old. I had been doing great accepting persistent A Fib with no hope of an ablation that would actually work. I was getting stronger and last week even went back to the gym. I did ok with moderate exercise. Now this. I also take Atenolol, an old friend, 25 mg BID. With the low B P I am reluctant to take it, but I do. Im really weary of this who Afib path of never getting better. My house needs cleaning, the yard needs water, simple things I cant do. I live alone with my rescue dogs and that is a concern. I have kids but they are so spread out, have jobs, kids, blah blah. My reg DR is back in the office and I will see him soon. No word if the EKG showed and difference. I have dear friends and my next door neighbor looks out for me. I am blessed in that regard. I just rescued another dog during CLEAR THE SHELTERS DAY- free adoptions. She is two yrs old and 6.5 lbs. they sent her home with kennel cough! I cant even take care of myself. OK enough whining. I'm getting on my own nerves.
thanks for listening ..... Kitty
