Hi everyone,

Quick update, my first ablation on Thursday in Bournemouth went really well, sitting up was a bit of a problem afterwards and I ended up lying down from 9 a.m until 9 pm,( procedure 9 a.m until 12 noon) first time they tried after 15mins I felt sick , I had drunk a bottle of water and tea lying down but blood pressure dropped to 85/ whatever ( I wasn't listening by this time ,felt like passing out ) , my bed was tipped up the other way and a drip was attached to me. 2 hours later they tried again but blood pressure dropped again to 80 /? this time my head was nearly on the floor/ feet up , consultant was then called in and he performed a scan to look for bleeding around my heart ❤️, thankfully nothing showed up, and it was decided it was my Vagus nerve not happy with the ablation, and needed more time to settle. Bed was raised 2inches at a time and by 9pm I was in a very slouchy position and bp normal. I was still allowed home on Friday and have just taken it very easy ...............

Well done sounds good after a scary episode with Bp. Rest now in the beautiful environment that is Bournemouth, just love it there.

Thank you I am intending on resting, I'm actually in Weymouth, just as beautiful coastline and countryside. X

Yes I understand low BP but a long way from the 60/30 mine was in Feb! lol Did they put a line in and give you fluids? That usually raises BP quite well.

The most important thing for you now is rest and more rest. TV remote only for a week and then you can try making a cup of tea the next week.

Well done anyway.

Thanks Bob 60/30 blimey I felt awful at 80/ ?,yes they did put a drip line in after the first drop in bp and loads to drink, then when they raised me the 2nd time and I then started sweating and head spinning again, the nurse saw 48/? ,which got a couple of them running, cuff was reajusted, bed tilted right up and next reading was 80/? So they think first one wasn't a correct reading , that when they called consultant back in because I had the drip and had drunk loads which is why they said vagus nerve obviously didn't like PVI and linear ablation, so pigeon steps all the way. Yesterday every muscle in my body ached, not so bad today and don't intend on doing anything that could possibly ruin the so far brilliant rhythmic outcome..........fingers crossed !! X

My BP, always low, would drop like that, horrible feeling isn't it?

Sounds as though it was a good result so do just exactlh as instructed and do very little to allow your body to recover and start healing,

Thinking positive and healing visualisations can really help.

Best wishes for recovery.

Thank you, yes not a nice feeling, as well as fainting, feeling sick, my left hand kept swelling and getting pins and needles in ,that was really weird, so I kept pulling off oxygen monitor off my finger.

Yes I also think positivity can help with these things, I think you don't get as stressed then , which also helps keep everything calm.
