Has anyone experienced stomach bloating after AF Ablation surgery? If so, How long does it last?

bloating
Hi, The short answer is yes. I had stomach bloating after my ablation and it lasted a fair few weeks. I wasn't sure what to do at first, but my doctor eventually recommended medication for it, although any basic indigestion medicine might help ( please check with you own doctor first). Others have suggested more natural aids such as peppermint tea, but I didn't get that far I would also recommend eating smaller meals and more often, and avoid anything too "heavy" or spicy, or late at night until you feel better. I actually lost quite a bit of my appetite too, and lost 7 kilos in weight over the period. In my case no bad thing, but I would rather have dieted another way!. The good news is that this doesn't seem to be unusual following an ablation, and it did get better after a few weeks.
I did and indeed I have never really gone back to normal. However it has improved a lot. My biggest success was from not eating bread/toast for breakfast. I now have fruit and natural yogurt and very little bread during the day. Otherwise it's reasonably manageable
