I finally bit the bullet and asked for a loop recorder. Not sure what I was worried about. Guess I just didn't want a medical device in my body. But after talking to a relative and a friend who have them, I went for it. Procedure was simple and painless. Hurts a tiny bit now, but it's only been 48 hours. A bit bruised and black and blue, but I do bruise really easily so not surprised. Hopefully it will catch some of my intermittent symptoms that are still bothering me since an ablation last autumn.
Question - has anyone had a mammogram with the loop recorder in? Both the nurses I asked said it wouldn't be a big deal. It might pinch a bit more (oh joy....) but it would be ok. I have a follow up with my EP next week and will ask him as well, but wondering what experiences others might have had.

Hi - i had a mammogram with a REVEAL loop recorder. They were very careful and it was fine! I'd only had it in about 6 weeks at the time . It didn't seem any worse than usual.
Thank you so much Gildy! That's very reassuring. I thought I'd wait till after our vacation trip (England and Finland!) and do it in September. Good to know yours was ok to do it after just 6 weeks. Thank you!
I had a loop recording implant put in my breast in January . No problems at all until about 3 weeks ago when I found a lump in my breast. A very worrying time until I had mammogram and ultrasound and was told it was scar tissue from the implant. No problems having the mammogram or should I say no different to previously!
Oh no, hope you were blue to get the mammogram quickly, so you weren't worried for long. Good to know that scar tissue can be a long term issue. Glad all is well for you!
Thank God you posted this I too have a linq loop recorder I was petrified a thinking a mammogram my job fragments all over my breast LOL worry-wart I am. Well for the last year I've had a sprayer show underneath my breast it constantly smells like it's corroding I darn a day I smell it at a gag and I have to run to the bathroom and wash it with soap and water like four times a day at least my doctor told me to go away but I never did and well last week taking off my bra and something on my breast it looked kind of like a milk and egg mixture kind of like colostrum but it wasn't sweet smelling was nasty smelling and then today because of my heart problems I never lay on my back cuz I can't breathe I love had a good breathing year so I laid on my back for the first time in a long time I can breathe again I felt a heaviness of my chest not like a chest pain so I rubbed my boob and I found a large lump and I left breast on the bottom right corner my fiance's on my face go from a smile to a Ono face he said what's wrong I said come here feel this you felt it his face completely went into fear like a panic he knows that my grandmother had breast cancer and he knows that my aunt died in her thirties from breast cancer my aunt was on my mom's side and my grandmother was on my dad's side he said make an appointment mediately we're not playing around with this but then you said maybe it's scar tissue cuz I had open heart surgery last year after my stroke and I have a loop recorder for like 3 months and who I was in fear that I couldn't get a mammogram because my recorder but you confirmed I can. I was worried that a ultrasound might not give them the proper pictures that they need to see what's going on but now I know that the mammogram I can have
Also I hope you had a negative and not a positive for breast cancer if you have breast cancer my prayers are with you by the way either way my prayers are with you
I also have a LINQ reveal device and have had a mammogram with no problems. Just tell them you have one and they will be careful. I don't think the experience was any different from the usual - ie a bit uncomfortable, but no more than that.
LINQ Reveal device patient. I had a mammogram and ultrasound afterwards. I told the girls about the device they were very careful and even showed me the image of it.
Thank you for asking this question. I'm due for a loop recorder and realized my mammo was due about a week later. I postponed the implant until after the mammogram.
