Patient's Day 2017

As I'm relatively new to AF, I'm quite interested in attending to see what I can learn. Just after opinions as to whether others have found it useful. I've tentatively booked the hotel, just need to book onto the event.

I have been to 3 and they have all been really informative and relevant. The eminent speakers are absolute experts in the field and readily answer specific questions during breaks. This year the agenda looks particularly good for newly diagnosed people.

I can thoroughly recommend the event.

You will also meet lots of people with the same problems.

Enjoy yourself x

Thank you. It's good to hear from someone who has been to 3. I'll get on and book!

Do you have a link for the event? I'd be quite interested in attending too.

Look at pinned posts. Remember I organise a supper get together (Pink Carnation Club) at Hyatt Regency on the Saturday evening if you would like to join us.

Thanks Bob. I have actually booked in to that hotel.

I've only been once and it was well worth it. They did produce notes afterwards but to be honest it's not nearly the same as actually being there and hearing first hand what is said. And also of course being able to ask questions. We were split into groups of about 15 at each table towards the end, each with it's own EP and it's particular subject. AF and excercise was the subject at our table.

Thanks Koll. Sounds well worth going to.

I went last year for the first time and found it really interesting and informative. Well worth attending and I am going again this year. BobD's 'Pink Carnation' supper was a great way to meet up with others from this Forum too - a very pleasant evening.

They didn't do the table discussion that Hidden mentioned last year though.

NB It's cheaper if you are a Friend of the AF Association and if you book before the end of July.

Thanks Carole. I became a member when I was first diagnosed and the information has been invaluable. I'm going to book today. Birmingham is a bit of a trek but I shall enjoy the night away in a nice hotel!

I shall look forward to meeting you then, though I'm staying (again) at the Premier Inn just a short walk away.

Will be lovely to meet you, too.

I've just booked and this will be my third year running. I found it so informative last year that two weeks after attending I saw my EP and practically begged for a cryoablation! That was after hearing Professor Richard Schilling give a talk on it. 😁

Oh, how fantastic! He must be so inspiring. I've looked at the agenda and ablation doesn't seem to be covered this year. I'm going to book today.
