Patients day in October.

Hi everyone. I have applied for the patients day early so as to get the cheaper price. Does anyone know if I should expect to get a ticket through the post, pick it up at the door or will I just be on a list. I'm sure someone will know so thanks in anticipation.x

Hi Deodottie

You usually get something in the post/email prior to the day, but your name will be on the list with a name badge when you get there.

See you there

Ian

No Tickets. You just pitch up at the desk under your surname first initial (D for me_) and they give you a dolly dangler with your name on it. If you are staying up there on Saturday night I always organise a supper under the Pink Carnation Club name. Very informal but need to get numbers a week or so before so I can book a table. We stay at Hyatt Regency which is joined to ICC by a bridge.over the road. It is an expensive hotel (where isn't in central Brum) and there is a Premier Inn just down the road (Bridge Street) which is a little bit cheaper.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks. Already booked in at the Hyatt and would love to join the gang on Saturday night. As you can see I'm organised ( very unusual for me.).x

Of course I demand it. Unfortunately Ian has other commitments that night so won't be there till Sunday.

Myself and my wife are coming unless something happens, but we're driving on from Shrewsbury on the day. Can we reserve 2 pink carnations please Bob?

I usually buy a dozen fresh on the Saturday before I leave. home so will try to keep two back for you. I will be wearing one and if you ask any of the staff they will point me out..

Thanks Bob. Didn't realise they were fresh ones so don't worry about us, if we turn up and there's some left fine. We have booked but things happen at the last minutes here and not being able to go to things is just how it is, poorly animal or whatever.

I am hoping to go but it's the week after a week-long trip I have to make to Portugal. It depends on how much away time the hubby will wear! I need some good psychology, any tips lol

Bring him back a nice bottle of Port, that'll sort him out. :-)

Hehe, that might do the trick! Fingers crossed! :D

Chocolate and champagne on your return ? X

in reply todedeottie

Haha, that would certainly do it for me, but I suspect beer and cheese-flavoured snacks would be more the ticket for the old man!

Thanx

And it is REALLY worth going. I went last year and learned sooooo much. It's virtually impossible to pass on what you hear when it's face to face. We were even able to have a session with EP's and ask anything.

Hi. Go to A.F.A. website click on news and events then on events. Details will be there. If you download the registration form payment details and phone numbers are on there. Alternatively put A.F.A. association patient day 2014 into a search engine. There are probably simpler ways but not sure what. Someone else will know Im sure.x
