Hey ladies, those of you on rivaroxaban do you have extremley heavy periods?

I've gone from 2/3 days light to, it's best to stay on a hammock of towels with a roll your own huge tampon for at least 5 days πŸ˜‚ I feel like I might be found dead in a pool of blood and end up in csi as a unsolved murder 😩

How did any of you solve your crime scene?

Pass!!!

If its really as bad as this I would contact your GP for advice . You run the risk of anaemia.

May also be related to increasing age. Anti coags will not help problem so find a GP good with ladies' problems. Needs immediate investigation to find cause and put right. Don't be fobbed off; you cannot live like this.

CSI for sure here. It was a horrible 4 months pre and post ablation but am thankfully off it now. Was a desperate time for me for sure. Luckily I knew there was an end in sight but had I continued on it or if I have to go on anti coag again I will get endometrial ablation. Are you on it to have an ablation or longer?

This previous post on the same issue but with Apixaban may help? healthunlocked.com/afassoci......

I'm on it for life unfortunately, I am now awaiting a second ablation but have been told I will at least stay on anticoagulant since I had a clot in heart previously.

I wish it was age related, my body may feel it's capable of more children there's no way my mind is πŸ˜‚ Especially being a nanny now.

Thanks for the link and I will go to GP

Doctors appointment waste of time, seriously I told him that for 2/3 days out of 5 it's uncontrollable, so HE asks well how often do you need to change, erm excuse me I just told you it's uncontrollable I'm not a child and you're not a woman, so he suggested the contraceptive injection that will cause weight gain, so that's a no, he then suggested a tablet to take 3 days before due to then stop taking after a week which then causing a huge period when stopped, well obviously all that's going to do is shift the cycle, twit?

Think I'll just tolerate until I can see my cardiologist, since my suggestion of stopping anticoag for just 2 days was met with noooo and my suggestion that it could lead to anemia was greeted with you don't look it 😩

If I'm not in af next one I think I will skip a dose and see the difference, thank you for sharing your experiences x

I know I'm late to the party but YES! Periods are horrible on a blood thinner. Been taking eliquis since being dx with afib back in July- 4 months ago. I bleed like a stuck pig! Cramps are worse and I hate it! Had ablation almost 3 months ago and should be getting off blood thinner soon if heart checks out ok. I had some structural changes noted when I was dx no clot though.
