Had my RF Ablation Wed, May 3rd.

Do y'all really pay that expensive price for Eliquis?

Is that forever?

Hi Clipper

Well many of us are in the UK so for us it's free, but I believe it's around $100 a month which considering the alternative of a potential very serious stroke, is expensive but maybe worth it?

Actually just did a search and found it $250 a month in the USA, but never fear you can buy mail order from over the border in Canada $144 dollars for 60

Be well

Ian

I'm also on the Free NHS in UK but my initial diagnosis was in France and tha cost about 80€, but also reimbursed mainly through NHS, so yes, costly. But the alternative? I often worry about the many migrants and poorer peoples who simply can't access or pay for any meds for ongoing conditions. Those of us who can are so very lucky.

Are you French or British ?

I'm British, that's why I'm in the NHS but my initial Eliquis prescription was in France as that's where I was when I was my AF kicked in and I was helicoptered to hospital. After emergency treatment, which under reciprocal rights was free, I returned to uk and went on the waiting list for an ablation. 5 months later I had it. All drugs andctreatmebt NHS of course. But it would have been far quicker and smoother and probably better facilities in France. But the NHS is great and it is being fast eroded by this government. Enough said.

Bare in mind that if you're having to pay for yourself then you might want to consider that warfarin costs almost nothing and your own INR tester about $200.

Agree with Mike11, if you can manage it warfarin is still peefectly good, especially if you can get your own machine and strips and do moist of the monitoring yourself.

In US you can go to Eliquis website and get a coupon if you have health insurance and receive the coupon that allow you to get a discount making the Eliquis cost $10.00 for two years

Unfortunately, I am on Medicare and can get drugs free from the VA... However, the VA will only supply Generic drugs.

The Eliquis website "deal" does not cover anyone who is covered by the VA

I use the VA as well. I have private insurance but I am retiring soon and trying to get all my meds from VA, However, they will not provide Eliquis. Seems to me we, of all citizens, should get whatever the Doc orders. I served 17 years and am 80% Service Connected dissabled, yet I cannot get the meds prescribed??
