Has anyone on this site ever tried the Chinese herb Wenxin keli for AFIB? There have been some clinical trials and there is some info on the web, but I don't know of any doctors using it nor can I locate info on the correct dosage...although you can buy this online (like everything else these days!) Just curious and seeking input.

Wenxin keli for AFIB ?
We would recommend discussing any new medications, whether they are alternative, herbal or prescription with your doctor as they may have interactions with any of your other medication.
When I went to hospital for a pre-op last week I was specifically asked if I was taking any herbal supplements.
I would steer clear if I were you. You never know what fillers have been added to these things.
If you type Wenxin keli into the search box at the top right of this page it will throw up some posts where this has been discussed in the past.

I agree there's lots about this in the previous posts
Other alternatives to orthodox medicine is also interesting.. orthodox can produce some bad side effects as well
so always good to look at other health treatment
However, you have to research well.
if u are on other medicines the herbs could interfer with them
Orthodox medicine in many cases derived from the plants

Herbal medince has been used for hundreds of years but its better you see a professional herbalist maybe
My impression from last time it was discussed is that it varies in strength so there is no way to know how much to take, and the ingredients sounded rather strange to our western ears. I decided to leave well alone, but there are other things which may help, such as magnesium (search on here for details, and how to take it), L-carnitine, CoQ10 and hawthorn perhaps . . .
Heard it from my mum living in Iran that her warfrin was replaced by it and after few months back on warfrin again! Don't know any more details though!
