Do any constituents of the 'Full Blood Count' test and more specifically the 'Platelet Count' included and done by your GP have any bearing on whether or not you should be taking anti-coags?

It's just the chads2vasc score unless you have another totally coincidental haematological problem such as polycythemia Vera (high rbcs) or thrombocythemia (high platelets)

Thanks Goldfish, I didn't think it was relevant as it has never been mentioned by the medics I see.

I recently had a blood test that showed a lower than average platelet count. Waiting of the result of a second blood test. Results due early next week. I wondered if apixiban was the reason. We will wait and see
